ABOUT
The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes. We're the only community based non-profit working for people with ID/DD throughout their lifetimes and across all diagnoses - from Autism to Down Syndrom to Fragile X and more than 100 other developmental disabilities.

More than one million Americans with ID/DD and their family members turn to The Arc to sever, support and advocate for them through a national network of more than 700 chapters. The Arc fosters change and expands opportunity in every aspect of their lives, allowing them to achieve their goals and become productive members of society.

Self-Determination
The Arc believes in self-determination and self-advocacy. People with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with appropriate resources and supports, can make decisions about their own lives and must be heard.
